Tradition Ladies Golf Association

Article 1: Name


The name of the organization shall be The Tradition Ladies’ Golf Association (hereafter referred to as the TLGA).


Article 2: Object


The object of this association is to promote the game of golf by providing league play for the mutual benefit and enjoyment of the members.


Article 3: Membership


1. Members are defined as those who pay their annual dues to the Tradition Golf Club and   

    TLGA, as well as maintain an annual GHIN handicap.                    

2. Non-resident members of the TLGA may not hold office on the TLGA Board.


A. Membership shall be limited to 70 Lady Members at least eighteen years of age who are members of the Tradition Golf Club.


B. Members must have a USGA 18-hole Handicap Index to play in weekly tournaments and keep their handicaps current in the GHIN handicap system.

     1. All first-time members must have a USGA Established Handicap Index of 40.4 or less,

         resulting in a handicap of 45 or less from the ladies tees (Red tees at Tradition or            

         comparable tees at other courses).

     2. Handicap Index should be based on a minimum of ten 18-hole scores from the red tees

         and/or proof of USGA Index.


C. All members in good standing, excluding “social members” are considered “active

     members”.


D. Social Membership

     1. Social Membership is limited to those who have been members of the TLGA. Social

         Members need not be members of the Tradition Golf Club.

     2. Social Members will pay dues at the rate of 50% of the annual dues paid by Active

         Members.

     3. Social Members will not have voting rights or hold office on the TLGA Board.


Article 4: Election of Officers


A. The President will post a sign-up sheet on September 1st of each year listing Board

     positions. In the event there is more than one nominee for a particular office,

     ballots will be distributed on October 1st. Results will be rendered by October 30th.

     1. In the event of a lack of nominee by the deadline stated above, the current Board

         will proceed with implementing a “shut down” plan. The voting period will not

         be extended.

     2. Offices to be filled will be determined each year based on those positions having

         volunteers. The Office of President must be filled in order to continue league play.

B. The term of each office shall be one year commencing December 1st.


Article 5: Duties Of The Officers


A. The President shall preside at all meetings and  approve all activities of the Association.

     She shall appoint any special chairpersons or committees she deems necessary; i.e:

     handicap chairperson, weekly tournament volunteers, auditor, etc.


B. The Treasurer shall handle all finances of the Association and keep a record of such. She shall

     deposit all monies in a local bank in the name of the Association. She or the President will

     sign all checks. She shall report on the financial condition of the Association at any meeting

     thereof. At year-end, she shall prepare a final budget, maintaining a carry-over balance

     of no less than $100.00.  These excess funds will become part of the next year’s budget

     whose use will be approved by full membership during the first meeting of each year.


C. Vacancy on the Board

      1. The Board may appoint a substitute to fill any vacancy in an elected office until an

          election by the Active Members can be held.


Article 6: Dues


The Board shall determine the annual dues based on the proposed budget for the coming year

(December 1st through November 30th). Dues for the TLGA are due no later than

December 15th.


Article 7: League Day Play


A. Play is to be held once weekly.

B. Four (4) or more players are required to constitute a weekly play day.

C. Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to league day.

D. No shows and excessive cancellations will be referred to the Board for further action.

E. Weekly tournament volunteers will plan weekly play and determine the prize distribution

     of the day.

F. Game scores are to be posted by the handicap chairperson.


Article 8: League Sanctioned Tournaments


A. President’s Cup will be open to all Active Members and will be played to full handicap.

B. Annually the Board will review and approve participation in league-sanctioned events.


Article 9: Meetings


There shall be a minimum of two league meetings each year.


Article 10: Special Awards


A. To be eligible for awards at the end of the year, members must have credited league days equal

     to at least 40% of the weekly league day tournaments by November 30th.

B. Year end awards will be proposed by the Board, announced at the January meeting, and    

     accepted by the Membership each year.

C. Birdie and eagle awards will be given to first-time qualifiers only.

D. The Board may include other awards at their discretion.


Article 12: Amendments


The By-laws may be appended, amended, repealed or supplemented by the Board after approval

of a two-thirds vote of the Active Membership via electronic means, written response or presence at a meeting held in accordance with the provisions contained herein.

The name of the organization shall be The Tradition Ladies’ Golf Association (hereafter referred to as the TLGA). The Tradition Ladies Golf Association is a committee of the Tradition at Willbrook Property Owners Association, Inc.


Article 2: Object


The object of this association is to promote the game of golf by providing league play for the mutual benefit and enjoyment of the members.


Article 3: Membership


1. Members are defined as those who pay their annual dues to the TLGA as well as     maintain an annual GHIN (or subsequent approved system) handicap at The     Tradition Golf Club.    


2. Tradition Golf Club Members will be referred to as “Tradition Golf Club Members”.     Those not paying dues to the Tradition Golf Club will be referred to as “Non-     Tradition Golf Club Members”.


3. Resident members are defined as those who are homeowners in the     Tradition community.  Non-Resident members are defined as those who are not     homeowners in the Tradition community. The maximum number of Non-    Resident members will be capped at eight (8).  NOTE: Non-Resident members     who were TLGA members as of December 1, 2013 will be exempt from this     maximum.


4. Non-resident members of the TLGA may not hold office on the TLGA Board.
